Even if they do not have the Miranda law, manslaughter is a serious matter. You must keep silent, even if the police beat you, torcher you. The police might be able to intimidate you temporarily, but if you are found guilty of the crime, the prison time will be much longer than any temporary discomfort and more torcher in prison than police's interrogation room.
